Dr. Logan Toone is an assistant superintendent in Davis School District.

His duties include supervision of Teaching & Learning (Curriculum), Digital Learning, Assessment & Data, Career & Technical Education, Professional Learning & Quality Staffing, and Technology Services (IT). He previously worked as director of the district’s Assessment Department. His duties there included assessment, data collection, surveys, and any other efforts related to the evaluation of schools, teachers, and student achievement.

Dr. Toone’s career started in 2004 as a high school mathematics teacher. He also spent a few years as the mathematics curriculum supervisor at the district office. He received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Weber State University, and in December 2011 he completed a Ph.D. in education at Utah State University.

His professional passions include data collection & analysis, digital learning tools, and personalized learning. Dr. Toone believes that a solid empirical understanding of student growth and learning, along with a willingness to implement modern instructional strategies and tools will set educators on a course to increase achievement and brighten the future for our students. He is a lifelong resident of Davis County.
